We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to design, build, and maintain solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise across multiple ServiceNow modules, strong scripting skills, and a track record of delivering scalable, secure, and well-governed platform solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and administrators to translate requirements into effective ServiceNow applications and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement custom applications, workflows, and integrations on the ServiceNow platform
  • Configure and customize ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps, or GRC as needed
  • Build and maintain Flow Designer flows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, ACLs, and script includes
  • Develop and support REST/SOAP integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems
  • Create and maintain Service Portal widgets and custom UI components
  • Participate in platform upgrades, ensuring custom code and configurations remain compatible
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following ServiceNow best practices and coding standards
  • Perform unit testing, support UAT, and troubleshoot defects across development, test, and production instances
  • Collaborate with architects and admins on data model design, ACL/security architecture, and performance optimization
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and demos
  • Create technical documentation, including design specs, release notes, and knowledge base articles
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide APIs (GlideRecord, GlideAjax, GlideForm, GlideSystem), and server/client-side scripting
  • Experience with Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Workflow Editor (legacy)
  • Solid understanding of the ServiceNow data model, ACLs, business rules, and update sets
  • Experience building and consuming REST/SOAP web services and integrations (MID Server experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with Service Portal (AngularJS/Bootstrap) or UI Builder/Now Experience Framework
  • Experience with at least one core ServiceNow module (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps)
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management
  • Experience with source control (Git) and CI/CD practices for ServiceNow (e.g., ServiceNow DevOps, Automated Test Framework)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Additional Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications (e.g., ITSM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps, Discovery)
  • Experience with Performance Analytics, Reporting, or Now Assist/AI features
  • Experience with or knowledge of Otto, Autonomous Workforce/AI Specialists (AI Agents), and AI Control Tower
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Background in enterprise environments with complex integration landscapes
  • Experience with scaled/vector databases, LDAP/SSO/SAML integrations, or scripting in Python is a plus
  • Experience in the electric utility industry is a plus
