About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to join us. The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions as defined by the requirements documented. Your primary focus will be on creating and customizing applications within the ServiceNow platform to automate and optimize IT service management processes. You will collaborate with various IT teams, including CASD (CA Service Desk), Infrastructure, DevOps, Business Support, Business Enablement (Dev), and other cross-functional teams.
The ServiceNow Developer/Administrator (Level 2) is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions based on documented business and technical requirements. This role focuses on building and configuring applications on the ServiceNow platform to enhance and automate IT service management (ITSM) processes and custom-scoped applications. The Developer L2 works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including CASD (CA Service Desk), Infrastructure, DevOps, Business Support, and Business Enablement, to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions that align with organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Solution Development & Configuration
- Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows in alignment with requirements.
- Build and maintain ServiceNow components, including:
- Custom applications
- Business Rules
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- Flow Designer workflows
- Forms
- Integrations (REST, SOAP, Service graph connectors)

- Apply platform best practices and adhere to established development standards.
- Requirements & Process Alignment
- Partner with process owners and SMEs to understand business processes, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Translate functional and business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Support process improvement initiatives through automation and workflow optimization.
- Integration & Platform Support
- Configure and implement integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and other integration mechanisms.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on integration approaches and best practices.
- Support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution for existing applications.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Participate in test planning, including defining test cases and scenarios.
- Perform unit and system testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and security standards.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
- Design specifications
- Architecture diagrams
- Configuration documentation
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and SDLC processes.
- Support knowledge transfer and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on ServiceNow platform capabilities, releases, and industry trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery through platform enhancements.
- Contribute to process standardization and the development of maturity by following ServiceNow best practices.
- System Support
- Assist with the administration of on-premises environments, including updates, patches, and upgrades as needed.
- Debug and troubleshoot the production environment and solve issues as a System Admin Lead
- Reach out to customers or platform users to replicate the issue and help users continue their normal day-to-day operations
- Coordinate with ServiceNow Support to determine and solve any bugs/defects from ServiceNow and questions from our team.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities, including:
- ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, CSM (or similar modules)
- Proficiency in:
- JavaScript
- Glide API (GlideRecord, GlideSystem, etc.)
- ServiceNow Studio, Flow Designer, Service Portal
- Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP, MID Server).
- Knowledge of ServiceNow security model and access controls.
- Process & Framework Knowledge
- Familiarity with ITIL principles and IT service management best practices.
- Understanding SDLC and secure development practices.
- Certifications (Required)
- At least one active ServiceNow certification: Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
- Professional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and maintainability.
