The role involves maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This includes overseeing data governance, defining the structure of the configuration management system, such as identifying Configuration Items (CIs), establishing naming standards, defining relationships, and supervising mapping and discovery activities. You will be critical in improving incident and problem management, streamlining change processes, optimising asset utilisation, mitigating risks, and aligning IT infrastructure with strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure accurate CMDB development, implementation, and maintenance to support IT service management processes.
2. Leads, educates and mentors critical stakeholders on developing and maintaining configuration management services, concepts, policies and procedures to deliver accurate reporting and metrics as needed.
3. Providing advice and support during system deployments to ensure that change impacts across configuration items are understood and managed.
4. Generate reports and insights from the CMDB to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
· 5+ years of proven experience in managing a CMDB in ServiceNow.
· Experience building CMDB in the technology industry or within technical groups within a large, global organisation.
· Experience with ServiceNow configuration management and Service Mapping.
· A strong understanding of IT infrastructure and data management principles.
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
