Symmetrio is recruiting an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Lead Consultant to define and lead enterprise configuration and asset management strategy for a large, global hospitality and technology organization. This role is focused on building a reliable, scalable CMDB and asset data foundation that supports day-to-day IT operations, service visibility, risk management, and broader digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management experience, a strong understanding of data governance, and the ability to work across infrastructure, applications, security, and service management teams to drive alignment and measurable outcomes.

This is a remote, six-month contract role with a strong likelihood of extension. Compensation ranges from $140,000–$200,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and execute the enterprise CMDB and Asset Management strategy on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Design and govern the CMDB data model, including CI classes, relationships, standards, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish and maintain policies, processes, and controls to ensure CMDB and asset data accuracy, completeness, and long-term integrity.
  • Lead integrations with authoritative data sources such as ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, cloud providers, and third-party systems.
  • Partner with ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure CMDB and asset data supports operational, security, and business use cases.
  • Define, track, and continuously improve data quality metrics, health dashboards, and audit processes.
  • Lead and mature asset lifecycle management practices across hardware, software, and cloud assets.
  • Act as the primary owner for CMDB and asset-related platform decisions, priorities, and design standards.
  • Provide subject-matter guidance to ServiceNow developers, architects, and administrators.
  • Support roadmap development and adoption of advanced capabilities such as service mapping, impact analysis, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in configuration management, asset management, IT service management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management, including Discovery and platform integrations.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Configuration Management principles and asset lifecycle best practices.
  • Experience designing and governing CMDBs in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data quality and operational outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-ITSM, CIS-ITOM).
  • ITIL certification.
