This is a remote position. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Automated Test Engineer to support the VA ESOM ServiceNow Operations and Maintenance program. This role owns automated test coverage using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) to validate releases, upgrades, new features, and configuration changes before production. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on ServiceNow and ATF expertise and can independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and improve automated regression testing while collaborating with developers, business analysts, and release management teams in an Agile sprint and release environment. Key Responsibilities Design, build, maintain, and execute automated test suites and reusable test steps using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF). Develop ATF coverage for new features, configuration changes, enhancements, and platform upgrades. Execute automated regression testing before production releases and semi-annual ServiceNow platform upgrades. Integrate ATF testing into release management, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows. Analyze automated test failures, troubleshoot issues, and work with developers to identify root causes and corrective actions. Maintain test data, test environments, configuration baselines, and other dependencies required for reliable automated testing. Translate user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria into automated ATF test scenarios. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, release managers, and other stakeholders throughout the sprint lifecycle. Track and report automated test coverage, pass/fail trends, defects, and release-readiness metrics. Perform supplemental manual testing when automation is not technically feasible or cost-effective. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 8+ years of ServiceNow testing, software quality assurance, or related experience. Significant hands-on experience designing, building, maintaining, and executing ServiceNow ATF test suites. Ability to independently own automated ServiceNow testing with minimal supervision. Experience creating logical and functional automated test scripts across multiple ServiceNow modules and use cases. Strong understanding of testing methodologies, automation strategies, risks, and appropriate testing approaches across different functional environments. Working knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and core modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CSM, or similar modules. Experience troubleshooting failed automated tests and isolating application, configuration, environment, or test-script issues. Experience using defect tracking and test management tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications ServiceNow CSA preferred, with experience in Test Management 2.0, JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs, ATF, CI/CD, and DevOps testing workflows. Experience testing ServiceNow in federal environments, preferably supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other large-scale federal programs.
