ServiceNow Architect (ITSM)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect to join a leading enterprise environment in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled ServiceNow professional to lead platform architecture, drive enterprise-scale ITSM solutions, and provide technical leadership across development and integration initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, upgrade-safe ServiceNow solutions, defining platform governance standards, and ensuring optimal performance across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-grade ServiceNow ITSM solutions aligned with ITIL best practices.
• Define the long-term ServiceNow platform roadmap and instance strategy.
• Architect scalable and maintainable solutions using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, and other platform capabilities.
• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and IntegrationHub.
• Oversee large-scale data migration and synchronization initiatives utilizing Import Sets, Transform Maps, and staging tables.
• Design advanced Service Catalog items, Record Producers, and portal experiences.
• Diagnose and resolve platform performance issues, including slow queries, transaction bottlenecks, and script inefficiencies.
• Establish and enforce development standards, coding best practices, and platform governance processes.
• Conduct architecture reviews and mentor development teams.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
• Provide strategic guidance on ServiceNow capabilities, limitations, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10+ years of experience working with ServiceNow.
• Strong experience designing and implementing ServiceNow ITSM solutions.
• Advanced JavaScript development expertise within the ServiceNow platform.
• Deep knowledge of Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, Script Actions, and Scheduled Jobs.
• Extensive experience with REST, SOAP, JDBC, and IntegrationHub integrations.
• Proven experience with Import Sets, Transform Maps, and enterprise data migration strategies.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow Service Catalog and portal development.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing platform performance.
• Expertise in ServiceNow architecture, governance, and development best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM)
• ITIL Foundation Certification or higher
