Residential Service Journeyman Plumber
Location: Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Service Manager / Master Plumber
The Residential Service Journeyman Plumber is responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing systems exclusively in residential homes. This role requires a current Journeyman Plumber license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.
The Journeyman will perform advanced troubleshooting, lead service calls, and ensure all work complies with Texas plumbing codes while delivering exceptional customer service. This position does not involve commercial plumbing work.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues including leaks, slab leaks, water pressure problems, and fixture malfunctions
- Install and replace residential plumbing systems, piping, and fixtures
- Service and replace residential water heaters (tank and tankless; gas and electric)
- Perform drain cleaning, camera inspections, and sewer line diagnostics
- Conduct plumbing system inspections and provide repair recommendations
- Ensure all work meets Texas plumbing codes and local regulations
- Complete detailed service reports, estimates, and invoices
- Maintain service vehicle inventory and required tools
- Mentor and oversee Apprentice or Tradesman Plumbers as assigned
- Provide professional communication and education to homeowners
Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Plumber license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners
- 4+ years of plumbing experience with strong residential service background
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with residential water heaters, sewer systems, and repiping
- Strong understanding of Texas plumbing codes
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check (required for residential service work)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces

Work Environment
Work is performed exclusively in residential homes. The position requires travel to service calls and working in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions. Evening, weekend, or emergency service calls may be required.
