About the Position
The Service Technician Leadis responsible foracting as a coach/leader of the Service Technician team. Thepositionisexpectedto coach and train teammates to fulfill their individual daily tasks in addition to the Lead’s own tasks.The rolewillberesponsible forperforming general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenancewith allMaterial HandlingEquipment, automated systems, and conveyorsinvolving allcustomersand vendors of KencoFleet Services
Functions
Provide daily work assignments anddirectionsto technicians based on priorities, skill levels, customer commitments, and operational needs
Repair andmaintainallMaterial HandlingEquipment, automated systems, and conveyorsusingstandards set by site
Champion safety by prioritizing safe work practicesand modeling exemplary behavior through proper PPE use, lockout/tagout adherence, and full compliance with safety protocols
Measure and increaseutilizationof technicians.
Responsible for the resolution ofall service, parts, and warranty issues.
Actively train and mentor technicians through hands-on instruction, demonstration of proper techniques, and real-time coaching
Provide hands-on instruction for advanced diagnostic techniques using multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, diagnostic software, and specialized testing equipment
Inspects forklifts, automated systems, conveyors,and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot engines, engine fuel systems, transmissions, or other components on material handling equipment,automated systems, and conveyors.
Manage equipment condition and support repair readiness by reporting damage, coordinating required parts, andmaintainingaccurateservice and inventory records.
Communicate with Parts team on parts and supplies needed tomaintainequipment.
Maintainpartsinventory,repairand preventative maintenancerecords for all equipment by completingaccuratepaperwork.
Conductstestsofsafety equipmentto ensure OSHA and operational standards.
Undertake regional or national travel as needed for training delivery, site support, equipment installations, special projects, or coverage of understaffed locations
Conduct new hire orientations covering company culture, policies, procedures, safety requirements, and expectations for performance and conduct
Model exemplary professionalism and clear communication in all interactions, translating technical information into understandable language that helps customerscomprehendequipment status and repair options while setting the standard for team conduct
Responsible for general cleanliness of servicearea always
Take ownership of site KPI performance by tracking metrics, addressing obstacles to target achievement, and leading the technician team to meet or exceed efficiency, quality, and safety goals
Take personal ownership of professional growth byidentifyingskill gaps, knowledge areas needing improvement, and capabilities that would enhance job performance
Adhere to 5S workplace organization principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) tomaintaingeneral cleanliness and ensure anorganizedefficient and safe service area at all times.
Support the Kenco Operating System byidentifyingways to workmore safely, efficiently, and effectively, and sharing ideas that help the team and company get better
Qualifications
High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduaterequired
6-8years of mechanic experiencerequired; preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance of material handling or similar equipment.
Gold level Toyota forklift certification or equivalent preferred
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment.
Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
Ability to lead others and interact with customers.
Must be able tofrequentlylift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Supply own mechanic technician hand tools.
Must be able to safelyoperatelift trucks.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite
