Job Description

As a Service Technician lI - Security with Bosch Building Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze (for correctness), and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations.  

This role requires the ability and know how to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the bill of material (BOM), and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

Our Integrated Systems Technicians are responsible for installing and servicing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain CCTV systems, alarm systems, and related security equipment.
  • Perform cable pulling, termination, and routing as part of security system installation.
  • Provide the customer with training for proper system usage, and respond to technical inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning security equipment and systems.
  • Complete detailed and accurate paperwork.
  • May be required to be “on-call” before or after your regularly scheduled hours, and/or on a day, when you are not regularly scheduled to work.
  • May be required to work “night shifts” when needed based on project/service requirements.
  • Design systems and layout.
  • Maintain a high level of safety and professionalism.
  • Lead projects at a site level, manage a team of junior technicians as necessary.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of experience in the integrated security industry.
  • 1+ years of experience with Lenel
  • Experience with security systems, CCTV, and intrusion alarms.
  • Proficiency in cable pulling, installation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of safe hand and power tool operation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers and team members.
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams and environments.
  • Adaptable to changing business and operational needs.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract.
  • Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Vendor certifications related to integrated security, access control, CCTV, intrusion, or other low-voltage systems.
  • Lenel Certification

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: $33.14 - $37.71
  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
