Sweetwater Propane is a small, locally owned, faith-based company providing reliable propane service across southern Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes region of New York. With a focus on integrity, respect, and community, the team values its people and works to make a meaningful impact every day.

What You'll Do as a Service Technician Assistant:

  • Perform safety inspections on customer propane (LP) systems.
  • Install, maintain, & repair propane equipment and systems in a field service environment.
  • Diagnose issues and find/repair leaks on customer systems.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and provide on-site professional service.
  • Complete service tickets, billing, and track parts, tools, and inventory.
  • Cross-train to assist with propane deliveries during busy seasons.
  • Inspect & maintain company vehicles and report any issues or damage.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of conditions while traveling locally (within ~35 miles).

Our Ideal Service Technician Assistant:

  • Experience & Licenses: Must be 25+ and able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen; CDL Class A or B preferred; mechanical background or aptitude preferred.
  • Safety-minded: Follow safety standards, work carefully, and install and service systems correctly.
  • Customer-focused: Interacts professionally with customers and communicates clearly on service calls.
  • Problem-solver: Diagnoses issues, thinks through solutions, and handles repairs effectively.
  • Adaptable: Flexible with changing tasks and schedules while working well with others in the field.
  • Tech-capable: Basic computer skills and ability to write clear, accurate service notes.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift and handle equipment weighing 50-75 lbs.

  • Full-time position, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, with an on-call rotation
  • $30-$35/hour, depending on experience
