Job Description

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Service Technician to join our Service team in our Mortlake Wind Farm, Victoria. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing wind turbines to ensure maximum performance, reliability and safety. Working within a highly skilled team, you will contribute to delivering sustainable energy solutions while developing your technical expertise in one of the world's fastest-growing industries.

YOUR TASKS:

  • Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
  • Carry out inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Repair or replace turbine components in accordance with company procedures.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records and inspection documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Use technical documentation, manuals and digital systems to support maintenance activities.
  • Support commissioning, upgrades and retrofit activities when required.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles in a safe and operational condition.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and customers to ensure efficient site operations.
  • Participate in the on-call roster and respond to turbine breakdowns when required.
  • Travel to wind farm sites as necessary to support operational requirements.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve performance, reliability and operational efficiency.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Current A-Grade Electrical Licence (mandatory).
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, utilities, mining, construction, renewable energy or similar technical environments.
  • Wind industry experience is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to working safely and following established HSE requirements.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Physically capable of performing hands-on field work.
  • Good computer skills and ability to work with digital maintenance systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • GWO certifications and High-Risk Work Licences are highly regarded.
  • Willingness to travel and work in regional or remote locations when required.
  • Passion for renewable energy and continuous professional development.
