The Jr. Machinery Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery under close supervision. This entry-level role supports senior mechanics in diagnosing issues, performing basic repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational.
This job profile is intended for entry-level support staff who follow specific instructions and procedures, with supervision provided for non-routine situations. Tasks can be carried out after basic training or demonstration.
This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.
Assist in inspecting and maintaining machinery and mechanical systems.
Perform basic repairs and part replacements.
Support preventive maintenance routines.
Clean and organize tools and work areas.
Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
Document maintenance activities.
Learn and apply mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
Skills & Qualifications
May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and the ability to carry out assigned tasks after initial instruction or demonstration.
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to use basic hand tools.
