Job Description

Palmer Johnson is hiring a Service Technician for our Component Shop in Sun Prairie. In this role, you'll work on heavy-duty transmissions, axles, differentials, torque converters, and other drivetrain components used in construction, material handling, agriculture, and industrial equipment.

If you're an experienced diesel or heavy equipment technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, rebuilding components, and doing quality work, we'd like to talk to you.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, disassemble, inspect, and rebuild heavy-duty components
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • Complete repairs to OEM specifications
  • Document findings and repair recommendations
  • Work with teammates, customers, and manufacturers to solve technical issues

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of diesel, heavy equipment, or drivetrain repair experience
  • Technical training in diesel or automotive is a plus, but not required
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and failure analysis skills
  • Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet throughout the day
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
