Job Description

Introduction

Join Shimano as a Service Technician and become part of an international team with a passion for sports. We are looking for a communicative and customer-focused professional with a strong interest in technology who enjoys supporting both customers and colleagues. As our service processes continue to evolve from physical to online evaluations, you will work in a dynamic environment where adaptability, accuracy, and a willingness to learn are key. Experience in a similar role is preferred, but technical affinity, customer focus, and a positive attitude are considered most important. Occasional support at sports and marketing events offers an exciting additional dimension to the role.

The Challenge

Working for Shimano means being part of a company with a passion for sports and an international team of colleagues. This role offers a high level of responsibility and plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and further develop your personal and professional skills. You will join a young, enthusiastic, and hardworking team where collaboration and enjoyment go hand in hand.

We are looking for a Service Technician to support both our customers and colleagues. In this role, strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a genuine interest in technology are essential. While experience in a similar role or as a bicycle mechanic is preferred, we place greater value on your technical affinity, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering excellent customer support.

As Shimano continues to evolve its service processes from physical product assessments to online evaluations, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a changing environment and open to adopting new ways of working. You have an eye for detail, work in a structured and independent manner, and understand the importance of accurate reporting and process compliance.

Occasionally, you may have the opportunity to support Shimano at sports and marketing events such as the Amstel Gold Race (AGR), Tour of Flanders (RVV), and Technology on Tour. Participation in these events will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

What are we looking for?

  • A strong interest in technology and a customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • A structured, accurate, and independent way of working.
  • An understanding of the importance of reporting and process compliance.
  • Experience with CRM systems and automated order processing is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of or experience with quality systems is a plus.
  • A positive attitude towards change and new ways of working.
  • Preferably 3–5 years of experience in a similar role or as a bicycle mechanic.
  • A passion for cycling and familiarity with Shimano products are considered a plus.

Although we currently have a preferred candidate, we would still love to hear from you if this role matches your skills and ambitions. Please feel free to submit your application. We look forward to hearing from you!

What do we have to offer?

Shimano and its subsidiaries offer a pleasant, informal working environment with colleagues who work well together, and are proud to work for Shimano. Next to good working conditions, Shimano offers you the opportunity to work in a responsible and challenging position within a dynamic, international and ambitious environment. Together we want to win therefore we have a strong focus on team achievement.
