We invite applications for the Service Technician position at our Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Division in Sasolburg. The Service Technician will provide technical, service and aftermarket- customer support during field service activities on various types of compressors, fans, roots type blowers and turbines. Diagnosing machinery, process and operating problems on rotating machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform service/repair on rotational equipment and multi-brand compressors; both oil-injected and oil-free.
• Ability to interpret and understand PID, drawings, manuals, etc., related to all types of compressors, turbines, and blowers.
• Navigate multi-brand compressor controllers to obtain data to assist in troubleshooting.
• Install new equipment (Construction Job Sites and Retrofits).
• Conduct statutory and insurance examinations on rotational equipment.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Managing service contracts on customer sites.
• Laser alignment of equipment.
• Commissioning of the plant.
• Support workshop associates when required.
