The Service Technician will respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls in a timely manner. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts, and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
Essential Functions
• Use strong troubleshooting skills to isolate and resolve problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
• Identify and resolve issues for many types of service calls including emergency and after-hours calls; analyze repair requirements and provide customers with appropriate solutions; complete necessary repairs and replacements as needed; exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and BryComm in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
• May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
• Execute all service calls in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate and work consistently with other team members to improve overall operations of BryComm and the company.
• Responsible for primarily performing preventative maintenance for installed systems that are typically less complex.
• Work closely with other specialists to cross-train on servicing existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs, and supporting small project business.
• Scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair routines associated with installed security systems, and the installation of small or less complex projects.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs of the customer without being prompted.
• Solid technical skills and/or experience related to electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of structured cabling, data networking, and AV systems is preferred.
• Solid programming and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Must be a self-starter and work well with limited direct supervision.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (experience using hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level and other required tools for installation required
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including external and internal communication (written and verbal) skills
• Demonstrate a desire to learn the industry that CBX Solutions serves
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule when required to meet our customer’s needs (nights, weekends, over-night, etc.)
• Comfortable with heights, such as working a ladder and/or aerial man-lift
• Present oneself in a professional and neat manner
• Solid organization, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal skill required with the ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
