The Service Technician will clean, install, service, repair and/or refurbish complex vacuum equipment and systems such as pumps, helium leak detectors, and other electronic instruments at our Service Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. The Service Technician will use a wide range of hand and power tools, measuring devices, meters and scopes to test, trouble shoot and repair equipment. The work schedule for this position is M-F 7am-330pm.

Duties

  • Will clean, install, service, repair and refurbish complex equipment and systems in a service center (frequent), and at a field site (infrequent).
  • Will strictly adhere to all Quality and Safety procedures of the Company. Will use a wide range of hand and power tools, measuring devices, meters, and scopes to install, test, trouble shoot and repair equipment. Is learning about appropriate tools for each job and differences between tools.
  • Employees must follow site’s Hazardous Waste Program, which includes proper disposal of regulated and/or hazardous waste; following labeling and storage requirements; wearing proper
  • PPE; following SAA requirements when generating and disposing of waste; small spills clean up and following applicable procedures related to spills.
  • Records activities and completes necessary documentation in ERP system.
  • Disassembling the equipment
  • Confirming customer complaint of returning equipment
  • Decontaminating the equipment (using parts cleaners, degreasers, high pressure wash equipment, ultrasonic cleaners as well as blast media)

Physical Demands

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, and frequent lifting. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry via ERP system), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job. Additionally, you must be able to manipulate small and large tools to make both fine

and major adjustments to intricate test apparatus and equipment. The person in this job must be able to lift tools and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The position requires regular lifting of 25-pound equipment. Employees must be medically cleared to wear the required PPE. Employees are expected to use the required PPE for several hours at a time to complete an evaluation. Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma/GED- Required

AA degree and/or minimum of 1 year of related experience in the Service and Repair field of electronic or mechanical equipment- Preferred

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the assembly and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems- Required

Qualifications

Additional requirements include knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows as well as general background working with computers and office equipment (copiers, etc.) and accurately performing data entry. The work within the Service Center requires general mechanical and electrical aptitude. The person must also be able to follow repair instructions and testing techniques. Requirements also include the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, being a self-starter, motivated, creative, flexible, self-confident, deadline oriented and able to multi-task.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will work in a service center, which is an indoor and climate-controlled industrial environment.
