Job Description

A well-established produce industry supplier is searching for a Service Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Install automatic and semi-automatic packaging equipment, including pallet wrappers, shrink, flow wrap, top seal, and bundling systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automatic and semi-automatic machines at customer facilities and in-house, including PLCs, HDMI, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with the Service Department team and support Sales and Administration teams related to production and packaging needs.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment and delivery, ensuring it meets all operational and safety standards.
  • Complete and submit work orders, mileage reports, and expense documentation (including credit card receipts) on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain company tools, and other property in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide client training on proper equipment operation and maintenance, often in group settings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support team and operational goals.


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Millwright, Electrician Journeyman, or other relevant technical training.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Preferably, experience in manufacturing, packaging, or distribution environments.
  • Experience with shrink wrap equipment is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in industrial mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and other relevant software systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, tracking, and receiving using multiple carriers is a plus.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions with minimal supervision; strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong numerical aptitude for technical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating attention to detail and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to train clients and colleagues on equipment operation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for professional interactions with clients and team members.
