The Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides direct support to the Sustaining Engineer within the Vertiv Americas Services organization. This role assists with parts data entry, documentation, and administrative tasks tied to the Oracle ERP and PLM systems, helping ensure timely and accurate processing of Change Orders (COs), part extensions, and service documentation. The Technician executes well-defined tasks under the direction of the Sustaining Engineer while gaining exposure to change management and product lifecycle processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with data entry and item attribute updates in the Oracle ERP system under the direction of the Sustaining Engineer.
  • Support the extension of parts to Service plants by compiling and verifying required documentation.
  • Track and follow up on the status of Change Orders (COs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) submitted by the Sustaining Engineer.
  • Prepare, organize, and file product documentation (CAD drawings, Solid Edge files, Agile EC records) for review and approval.
  • Maintain and update internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and reference documents based on direction from the Sustaining Engineer.
  • Assist in gathering vendor and supplier quotes and technical specifications requested by the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Support kit and part number creation tasks related to Field Change Notices (FCNs).
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication between Production, Field, and Technical Support teams.
  • Perform basic quality checks on part records and documentation, flagging discrepancies for Sustaining Engineer review.
  • Assist with routine reporting and tracking of New Product Development (NPD) Service Readiness activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CAD or Solid Edge is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of ERP/PLM systems (Oracle preferred), or willingness to learn.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within a team.

POSITIONS ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Office work environment with regular exposure to manufacturing and lab environments, requiring use of personal protective equipment.
  • Minimal domestic travel (less than 10%).
