Job Description

The Service Site Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the Silverton Wind Farm in NSW. This leadership role manages a team of wind technicians and technical contractors, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

The manager is responsible for optimizing turbine performance and availability while serving as the key point of contact between corporate operations, the customer, contractors, and local stakeholders. The role is to be based at the Silverton Wind Farm NSW, and is not a FIFO or DIDO role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary onsite representative and single point of contact for customers, landowners, vendors, and local authorities to ensure high-quality service delivery for Silverton wind farm.
  • Oversee all daily wind farm operations, including planned and unplanned maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and routine turbine inspections.
  • Monitor real-time turbine performance metrics and coordinate with the remote operations center to ensure rapid response to alarms and faults.
  • Hire, schedule, mentor, and lead a team of wind technicians to ensure all work is executed to the highest possible technical and professional standards.
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture by implementing GE’s EHS procedures, conducting regular site audits, and leading thorough incident investigations.
  • Ensure all necessary manpower, equipment, and materials are available onsite to meet job-specific EHS requirements and operational goals.
  • Manage site-specific budgets, actively monitor and control business expenses, and oversee the procurement of parts and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using internal software management tools and databases to support business and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, sourcing, and project management to facilitate site upgrades, retrofits, or special technical projects.
  • Approve purchase requests and manage vendor/contractor performance in alignment with budget constraints and warranty obligations.
  • Regularly inspect, in-person, the progress and quality of all service site activities to ensure compliance with company policies and O&M agreements.
  • Provide regular reports and briefings to GE senior leadership regarding site performance, safety outcomes, and commercial status.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely resolutions to technical and operational concerns.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant service experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customer service or site management.
  • Background in managing Mechanical or Electrical projects.
  • Proven experience in wind farm operations and maintenance.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with P&L management and financial reporting experience.
