Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate in conjunction with the Sales organization and customers throughout the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the applied products and technology. Each day, you will determine costs, prepare final documentation, and serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by performing lost proposal analysis, identifying potential cause, and recommending future actions.

This role is contributing to the Motion Service Business based at Bangalore, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Supporting the local Sales organization and customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers.
  • Preparing / supporting in the preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, local business/feeder factory indications, and Sales organization directives.
  • Analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through information from general market and the Sales organization.
  • Defining cost for the proposed solution and communicates it to the Sales organization
  • Respond to customer enquiries within 1-2 days, maintaining high accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support the Sales team by managing and responding to sales-related backend requests promptly.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel, to analyze data and prepare sales-related reports.
  • Use SAP applications for making accurate offers and understanding the installation base.
  • Understand market pricing dynamics to offer competitive and correct pricing.
  • Apply basic knowledge of motors and generators to support sales activities.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other internal tools for tracking enquiries, customer data, and offer status.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to proactively suggest offers based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Maintain good knowledge of selling price, cost price, margin, and other financial parameters to assist in pricing decisions.
  • Generate periodic reports related to sales enquiries, offers made, and market feedback.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and technical departments to ensure smooth offer execution.
  • Maintain data integrity in all applicable systems and ensure documentation is up-to-date.

Qualifications for the role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel (pivot tables, data analysis tools).
  • Advanced understanding of sales functions and backend sales support.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Salesforce applications.
  • Advanced understanding of market pricing, customer enquiry handling, and offer making.
  • Good technical knowledge of Low Voltage Drives.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with sales and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • You are at ease communicating in English & Hindi.
