Job Description

GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration business in Poland focuses on modernizing the power grid, integrating renewable energy, and building critical high voltage infrastructure - especially for large offshore wind projects. Join us to help support Poland’s rapid energy transition and the broader decarbonization goals of Central and Eastern Europe.

As a Service Sales Specialist you will be responsible for driving commercial growth in the Polish market with a strong focus on service agreements, long-term customer relationships, and account development within our EPC energy projects. The role combines commercial customer management, sales support throughout the customer lifecycle, and business expansion. This position is suited for a commercially driven professional who can manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying and developing new business opportunities in Poland.

This position implies functional leadership as Individual Contributor without direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a defined portfolio of customers in the Polish market, with a primary focus on service contract sales within EPC energy projects.
  • Own the end-to-end commercial process for service- and project-related offers in the Polish FACTS and HVDC market, from opportunity identification to contract signature.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the service business within the existing customer base and support overall account growth.
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of commercial offers, including pricing, scope definition, risk assessment, and commercial terms.
  • Act as the commercial integrator between internal teams (engineering, service, tendering, sourcing, legal, finance) to ensure accurate, competitive, and executable offers.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations, clarify scope, align timelines, and secure commercially viable solutions.
  • Ensure all offers are fully aligned with internal governance, approval processes, and margin targets.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface for customers during bid, negotiation, execution handover, and contract lifecycle for FACTS and selected HVDC service opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Polish customers, including utilities, grid operators, EPC contractors, and industrial clients.
  • Translate customer technical and operational needs into clear commercial scopes, particularly for upgrades, retrofits, lifecycle services, and long-term service agreements.
  • Support customer decision-making by presenting value-based service propositions focused on asset availability, grid stability, lifecycle cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and grow a defined customer portfolio in Poland, with emphasis on service-related revenue in FACTS and grid-connected systems.
  • Identify service expansion opportunities within installed base (e.g. modernization, spare parts, extensions, performance improvements).
  • Support selective new business development beyond the existing customer base, especially in:
    • FACTS installations
    • Grid substations
    • High-voltage and power quality solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with service, operations, engineering, tendering, and product management to deliver customer-centric and technically sound solutions.
  • Act as a commercial sparring partner for less experienced colleagues when needed, sharing best practices in offer development and customer interaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a technical university or college, such as electrical engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong experience in sales, account management, or business development, in the field of grid & infrastructure, electrical systems (especially high voltage) or similar
  • Good understanding of service business models, including long-term service agreements, customer relationship management, and commercial contract handling.
  • Experience in managing commercial opportunities, bids, or projects with moderate complexity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Polish.
  • Willingness to travel (20%+)

Preferred Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid commercial acumen and the ability to analyze customer needs and translate them into value-driven solutions.
  • Ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders in a professional and credible manner.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
  • Structured, results-oriented, and customer-focused mindset.

What we offer:

  • Employment under an employment contract with an international company with a strong position in the energy market.
  • Extensive personal and professional development opportunities in an innovative and future- oriented environment.
  • Open and supportive corporate culture that promotes creativity and teamwork.
  • Attractive compensation package including private medical care, life insurance, and annual bonus.
