About the Role
We are looking for a Service Sales Representative to join our team and help drive service revenue while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This is a remote position, but the successful candidate is required to reside in the Spokane, Washington region to support the needs of the territory and customers.
In this role, you will support the full service sales lifecycle—from initial customer outreach and needs assessment through quoting, service coordination, and post-service follow-up. You will serve as a key connection point between our customers and internal teams, including Service, Engineering, Operations, Parts, and other cross-functional groups.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, commercially minded, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities while ensuring every detail is handled accurately and professionally. This is a commissionable sales role with significant opportunity to contribute to revenue growth and build long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Service Sales & Customer Support
- Promote and sell service offerings, maintenance programs, service agreements, and technical solutions.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for service sales inquiries and customer requests.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate service solutions.
- Prepare, update, and distribute quotes, proposals, service agreements, and other sales documentation.
- Maintain accurate customer records, CRM information, pricing, and service sales documentation.
- Support customers throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry through service completion and follow-up.
- Communicate customer requirements, timelines, pricing, and expectations to internal teams.
- Address customer concerns and service-related issues, escalating complex matters when appropriate.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Service, Engineering, Operations, Parts, and leadership to ensure customer needs are met.
- Coordinate service activities, scheduling, resource requirements, and customer commitments.
- Maintain accurate calendars, workflows, schedules, and documentation for multiple concurrent opportunities.
- Participate in customer meetings, service planning sessions, presentations, and strategic sales initiatives.
- Help ensure service sales activities are aligned with operational capabilities and customer expectations.
Reporting & Business Support
- Prepare service sales dashboards, pipeline updates, customer summaries, and commercial reports.
- Track customer service requests, pricing updates, service packages, and sales commitments.
- Provide insights regarding customer needs, service opportunities, and potential revenue growth.
- Support internal audits by preparing documentation and reports related to service sales accuracy, compliance, and service standards.
- Maintain awareness of company policies, pricing controls, confidentiality requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve service sales processes, communication workflows, and customer engagement.
- Leverage CRM, quoting, communication, and workflow systems to improve efficiency and visibility.
- Support system enhancements, integrations, and workflow improvements.
- Help develop standardized sales practices, templates, documentation, and internal controls.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in service sales, account management, business development, customer service, inside sales, or another customer-facing commercial role.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing multiple customer requests, sales opportunities, or projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to prepare and manage quotes, proposals, customer documentation, and other commercial materials.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office or similar business productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Service, Engineering, Operations, Parts, and other cross-functional teams.
- Professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to work in office, remote, field, and customer-site environments as business needs require.
- Candidate must be located in or near the Spokane, WA region
Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in service sales, technical sales, account management, or business development.
- Experience selling service programs, maintenance contracts, technical services, aftermarket solutions, or industrial equipment services
- Experience in the marine, power generation, industrial, energy, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries
- Technical knowledge or experience working with engines, power generation equipment, industrial equipment, controls, or related systems.
- Experience with quoting tools, ERP systems, service management platforms, or sales pipeline management tools.
- Experience managing sales pipelines and working toward revenue or sales targets.
- Previous experience in a commission-based sales environment
- Experience conducting customer presentations, sales meetings, and service planning discussions.
- Experience identifying opportunities for process improvement and increasing service sales.
- Existing customer relationships or industry contacts within the marine, power generation, industrial, or related markets.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience This is a commissionable role, providing additional earning potential based on sales performance and results.
