Service Now Application Developer

This role is responsible for supporting the HP IT Service Now system and quality assurance activities in accordance with solution development methodology and supporting projects. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining complex infrastructure automation workflows for compute, storage, and network environments. The candidate should have strong development skills in ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM with experience integrating with external infrastructure management systems like Ansible, VMware and Infoblox.
Responsibilities:
Development:
- Design, develop, and enhance ServiceNow applications, modules, and service catalogs to support compute, storage and network infrastructure via changes, incidents, defects, etc.
- Develop integrations between ServiceNow and external platforms such as Ansible, VMware and Infoblox via REST APIs to automate actions in the infrastructure management systems.
- Build and maintain workflows and jobs that maintain accurate data about the infrastructure in ServiceNow CMDB.
- Follow Agile development methodology as implemented by the infrastructure automation team.
- Prepare update sets to move new code and code changes to production following the defined processes.
Maintenance:
- Fine tune Service Catalogs, Workflows, Business Rules, UI Policies, and other platform capabilities to optimize functionality and performance.
- Maintain existing scheduled jobs, Script Includes, Client Scripts etc. to align with the needs of the infrastructure organization.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues related to workflows, integrations, and catalog requests.
- Participates as a member of development team and performs complex analysis of functional or business requirements. Applies advanced technical knowledge to maintain a technology area (e.g. Database Administration).
- Applies HP and 3rd party technologies to infrastructure and software solutions of moderate complexity.
- Prepares and conducts unit testing and debugging to ensure the quality and functionality of the software.
- Works closely with other members of the development team, such as architects, designers, and testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participates in the design and architecture of software applications to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusability.
- Works in an agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, and delivering incremental software updates.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- 4+ years of experience as ServiceNow developer in large-scale environments.
- Strong expertise in ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM and CMDB
- Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow for reports and dashboards
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow certifications on Flow Designer, Integration Hub, App Engine Studio, Certified Application Developer or Certified Technical Architect
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation.
- Exposure to Datacenter infrastructure.
