The Service Navigator for the agency’s Re-Entry program functions as a service coordinator for participants transitioning from incarceration in a Bureau of Prison (BOP) facility to a BOP Residential Reentry Center (RRC) or BOP-contracted RRC, and ultimately, back into the community. This role is essential in preparing reentrants to reintegrate back to the community through facilitation of pre-release planning, employment training, and other vital supportive services. This position coordinates services with other Goodwill programs, First Step Act staff and community partners to ensure seamless service delivery. The Service Navigator is responsible for providing advocacy, full scope case planning, job placement services and program referrals to work towards the participant’s goal of overcoming barriers to reentry. This team is expected to split their work week between agency and community partner sites so reliable transportation will be essential in this role.

Duties will also include but are not limited to:

  • Assess participants’ barriers, skills, and access to resources in order to provide wrap around service connections.
  • Maintain up-to-date, thorough knowledge of the agency’s employment and training programs to refer appropriately based on needs, interests, and eligibility. When appropriate, assist participants in filling out applications or questionnaires for enrollment into services.
  • Travel to RRC and other community locations to conduct program related activities.
  • Maintain all files and personal identifiable information in a confidential manner, providing information about clients on a “need to know” status.
  • Facilitate job club activities within contracted facilities and in the community presenting best practices and focusing on retention seeking efforts. Monitor attendance and promote involvement.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders (participants, employers, funders, fellow Goodwill employees and departments, etc.) to ensure quality service delivery and successful outcomes, including attendance at meetings, trainings, etc. as needed.

External Hiring Range $18.11-$21.16

Schedule 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday some evenings and weekends required.

Travel:local travel will be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND 6 years of experience required. OR
  • Associate's degree AND 4 years of experience required. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of experience required.

Required Experience:

Experience with case management, locating community and social services for at-risk or vulnerable adult populations, required.

Database experience, required.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH).
