About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a dedicated OSHC team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a respectful, inclusive workplace culture
  • Deliver high-quality OSHC programs that promote learning, wellbeing, and inclusion for all children
  • Ensure services comply with all legislation and regulations including the National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant Jabiru policies and procedures
  • Oversee planning, rostering, and resourcing, ensuring the right staff are in the right place to meet operational and program needs
  • Conduct training, induction, and ongoing professional development for team members to strengthen skills, knowledge, and compliance with best practices
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, schools, and the community to enhance engagement and trust
  • Monitor and maintain service quality through audits, reflective practice, and continuous improvement initiatives, including Quality Improvement Plans
  • Promote and uphold child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion in all service operations
  • Manage operational, administrative, and reporting responsibilities, ensuring timely, accurate records and adherence to Jabiru policies

Who we’re looking for:

  • Diploma in School Age/Early Childhood Education & Care or other equivalent qualification as recognised by ACECQA
  • Relevant OSHC or Childcare experience with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current QLD Blue Card, First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage resources, including rostering and operational management
  • Knowledge of quality frameworks, compliance obligations, and best practice in OSHC
  • A values-led approach, demonstrating care, respect, collaboration, and integrity in all interactions

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
