Within the "Defence and Security Services" organizational unit at the Rome office we are looking for a resource to cover the position of Service Manager to lead the operational services we deliver to National and International Institutions as well as Private Sector clients, with a strong focus on Maritime Surveillance. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the success and continuous improvement of our maritime operational services, contributing to global maritime surveillance and response capabilities. This position requires a solid understanding of remote sensing technologies, combined with a deep awareness of the operational needs of maritime security and response agencies. You will be responsible for ensuring service excellence, driving operational performance, and supporting mission‑critical decision‑making across diverse maritime environment and GEOINT service.
Main Responsibilities:
Plan , execute, and monitor Maritime Surveillance/GEOINT reporting projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints;
Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, including imagery analysts, GIS specialists, and other intelligence professionals;
Oversee operational services, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed Performance Indicators (PI), with particular focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and contractual obligations.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technical and functional requirements.
Ensure the quality of imagery analysis and interpretation, implementing quality‑control measures and periodic verification processes.
Manage communication among project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Identify and mitigate project risks, addressing issues that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide training and technical support to clients and end users of Maritime Surveillance/GEOINT solutions.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of imaging technologies and industry trends, participating in conferences, workshops, and training programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geoinformation, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline, with a solid foundation in geospatial data structures, remote‑sensing principles, and spatial analysis methodologies. At least 5 years of experience in the role is required
Demonstrated experience in managing Maritime Surveillance/GEOINT projects, including tasking, processing, exploitation, and dissemination workflows, as well as coordination of multi‑sensor imagery products (EO/IR/SAR).
Advanced knowledge of imaging technologies and analytical toolchains, including imagery exploitation software, feature‑extraction environments, and geospatial database management systems supporting large‑scale intelligence operations.
Strong project‑management capabilities, with proven application of structured methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) to Maritime Surveillance/GEOINT production cycles, service delivery frameworks, and operational readiness processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑coordination skills, enabling effective interaction with multidisciplinary analytical teams, operational units, and institutional customers in classified or mission‑critical environments.
Robust analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy in geospatial interpretation, and a results‑driven approach aligned with mission objectives and operational constraints.
At least intermediate English proficiency (B2 level), with operational capability in both oral and written communication.
