THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN West Sacramento, CA.

Overall responsibility for the Material Handling Division Sales Department and its employees reporting to the Division General Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advises dealers and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assigns sales territory to sales personnel.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist dealer’s sales representatives in promoting sales.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.
  • Represents Company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
  • Develop field sales staff to improve market penetration and profitability.
  • Promote sales to national account type customers and develop national accounts market program.
  • Develop allied sales efforts.
  • Review and approve field sales expense reports and necessary communications.
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations.
  • Lead the New Product Introduction process.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages up to ten sales representatives.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; regarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have a valid California Class C or higher driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record report.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places.

COMPENSATIONS

Pay Range: $115k - $125k Annually

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
