The role with us
The Regional Operations Specialist provides specialist technical leadership for Terrestrial Communications ICT infrastructure within the region and is the key escalation point for complex operational issues.
The role works with stakeholders and the field workforce to support day-to-day operations, assure standards and performance, and enable the safe and successful integration of new products, services, and processes.
Candidates must be located in Darwin or willing to relocate.
Interstate or fully remote arrangements were not presented as viable for this role.
Key responsibilities include:
Act as an ICT infrastructure SME (Subject Matter Expert) and escalation point for all aspects of the Terrestrial Communications infrastructure environment within the specific region of responsibility.
Provide quality advice and direction to stakeholders and field workforce, based on knowledge and experience within the Terrestrial Communications environment.
Support all components of ICT infrastructure based on operational requirements.
Provide backfilling for other regional resources within Telstra.
Participate in programs to ensure the successful integration of new products, services and/or processes to the group.
Perform and/or participate in complex, specialised investigations to determine and confirm system and design standards and performance parameters for the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra.
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have current NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
What You’ll Do
Act as an ICT infrastructure SME (Subject Matter Expert) and escalation point for all aspects of the Terrestrial Communications infrastructure environment within the specific region of responsibility.
Provide quality advice and direction to stakeholders and field workforce, based on knowledge and experience within the Terrestrial Communications environment.
Support all components of ICT infrastructure in line with operational requirements and agreed standards.
Governance role supporting Defence on the passive network/infrastructure side (design reviews, concessions, design approvals, and coordination across Telstra/Defence teams).
Perform and/or participate in complex, specialised investigations to determine and confirm system and design standards and performance parameters for the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra.
Regional travel is part of the role.
From Darwin, the role requires travel to locations such as Katherine, Alice Springs, and Broome, including overnight stays where required.
About You
Hold NV1 Security Clearance
Exceptional communication and customer-facing skills, with a professional presentation.
Proven track record in service delivery and managing external customer relationships in a medium-to-large services organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including operational fault resolution and customer updates.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work on-call.
Highly Desirable:
Forward-facing: consulting with Defence stakeholders and third parties, with strong customer engagement.
Solid technical background is required to understand network concepts and how passive design supports active infrastructure.
