Job Description

To provide advanced technical support, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-end automated bakery production lines, with a strong focus on industrial ovens, process control systems, and instrumentation. The role ensures optimal line efficiency, minimal downtime, and high reliability in continuous production environments

Responsibilities / Tasks

1. Installation & Commissioning

Install and commission automated bakery production lines.

Perform system integration with PLC systems, HMI/SCADA interfaces, Sensors and instrumentation.

Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).

2. Advanced Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve complex faults in:

a) Electrical systems (motors, drives, panels)

b) Instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow sensors)

c) Control systems (PLC, PID loops, HMI interfaces)

Troubleshoot oven-specific issues such as:

a) Temperature uniformity deviations

b) Burner or heating element performance

c) Airflow/fan control issues

Analyze root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Execute structured maintenance programs for, Ovens (burners, thermocouples, controllers) and Electrical panels and control systems.

Monitor system performance trends (temperature stability, energy usage).

Recommend predictive maintenance improvements to reduce failures.

4. Technical Support & Optimization

Provide on-site and remote support for production issues

Optimize process parameters:

a) Baking profiles

b) Heat distribution

c) Conveyor speeds

Support customers in improving product consistency and throughput.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Generate detailed service and troubleshooting reports.

Maintain system documentation, electrical drawings, and PLC backups.

Record calibration and maintenance data for critical instruments.

6. Training & Knowledge Transfer

Train customer personnel on:

a) Operation of automated lines

b) Basic electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting

c) Provide guidance on best practices for equipment usage and maintenance

7. Customer Engagement

Act as technical expert and primary interface for customers.

Deliver professional and timely service support.

Build long-term customer relationships through technical reliability.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Diploma / Degree in:

a) Mechanical Engineering

b) Electrical Engineering

c) Mechatronics Engineering

d) Instrumentation / Control Engineering

Experience

3–7 years experience in Automated industrial production lines, preferably food, bakery, or process industry.

Hands-on experience with industrial ovens is highly preferred.

Technical Skills (Critical)

Strong troubleshooting capability in:

a) Electrical systems (motors, VFDs, panels)

b) Instrumentation (thermocouples, RTDs, transmitters)

c) Control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA)

Ability to read Electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure in production environments.

Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

High level of ownership and accountability.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in one of the following disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Automation Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in servicing, maintaining, or commissioning automated industrial production equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in industrial automation environments
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and control systems in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience within the Food & Beverage, Bakery, Process Manufacturing, Packaging, or FMCG industry
  • Experience working with industrial baking ovens, tunnel ovens, proofers, conveyors, and automated production lines
  • Exposure to customer-facing field service roles.

Technical Competencies

Automation & Control Systems

  • Strong understanding of:
    • PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi or equivalent)
    • HMI and SCADA platforms
    • PID control loops
    • Industrial communication networks
  • Ability to perform:
    • System integration
    • Commissioning
    • FAT and SAT activities
    • PLC backup and restoration

Customer & Communication Skills

  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience conducting operator and maintenance training.
  • Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships through professional service delivery.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Ability to prepare comprehensive service and technical reports.
  • Maintain maintenance records and calibration documentation.
  • Update electrical drawings and system documentation.
  • Manage PLC programs and backup records.
