Pay: $20.00 per hour
At First Student, our Service Employees play an important role in keeping our fleet safe, fueled, and ready for service. This position supports the Maintenance Department by fueling buses, checking fluid levels, maintaining accurate fuel records, coordinating vehicle movement within the yard, and performing light building and grounds maintenance.

Open the lot and inspect bus parking areas to ensure vehicles can be dispatched safely and on time
Reposition buses that may block or restrict traffic within the yard
Fuel school buses, activity buses, and commercial vehicles
Check and refill oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid
Inspect belts and report any vehicle maintenance concerns
Maintain accurate fuel stick and meter readings
Complete fuel receiving, fuel variance, month-end closing, and meter calibration reports
Notify the Location Manager or designee when fuel deliveries are needed
Ensure proper readings and procedures are completed before and after fuel deliveries
Perform light interior and exterior maintenance on buses
Assist with general building and grounds maintenance
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
High school diploma or GED preferred
Basic knowledge of bus or vehicle maintenance
Ability and willingness to learn additional maintenance skills
Ability to safely operate required tools and equipment
Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures
This position is subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
