The OSFM is recruiting for a Service Desk Analyst (Information Systems Specialist 3) As the Service Desk Analyst you will serve as the agency’s frontline provider of IT support services. This role focuses heavily on assisting staff with issues related to computers, software, mobile devices, VOIP phones, and network connectivity. It involves diagnosing and resolving technical problems, escalating complex issues, maintaining accurate ticket records, and communicating clearly with staff during system outages or maintenance. This position also provides training, creates documentation, and supports users across both local and remote locations.

In addition to daily support, you will help maintain the agency’s technology infrastructure by managing user access, installing and configuring hardware and software, monitoring system and telecom performance, and coordinating with vendors for equipment and services. This role includes responsibilities such as managing asset inventory, preparing technology purchases, supporting hardware rollouts, and integrating mobile devices and VOIP solutions. The position also plays a part in emergency operations, ensuring that technology systems remain functional so the agency can continue its mission of protecting people, property, and the environment.

  • This is a full-time, permanent position and is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union.

  • This position is based at our Salem office in Oregon.

  • This position will report to the office Monday-Friday.

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. When the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of information systems experience in service desk operations; OR

  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience configuring and managing mobile devices for end users

  • Help desk experience delivering front-line technical IT support

  • Skill in delivering engaging presentations

  • Experience creating and delivering trainings to a variety of audiences

  • Skill in communicating technical information and applying active listening to inform decision making

  • Skill in writing well-structured technical documents

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and prioritize workload
