JOB SUMMARY: The Help Desk Technician 1 is primarily responsible for supporting hardware and various software applications. In this role, incumbent will provide maintenance of the client environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software, and escalating tickets to higher level technician when needed. Incumbent will be responsible for administration and support of the companys computers, mobile device, scanners, phones, and printers. Some tasks include end user support, asset tracking, hardware recycling, performing computer maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, and configuration changes. As the first point of contact you will respond by phone, remotely or in person. Asking questions to determine how to best solve the employees problem(s) using resources and technical knowledge. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing help desk tickets Maintains knowledgebase documentation Providing solutions and advice on technical issues Creating manuals for technical training Responding to texts, emails and calls on technical issues Performing other duties assigned by the IT Manager in an orderly and efficient manner Coordinates and works with outside vendors on projects as required Must be able to travel 25% plus of time Move hardware as required Troubleshoot basic software issues Provide remote support to India office when required Active Directory password resets and maintenance Provide basic software training in various Applications
REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Excellent communication, including writing, speaking and active listening Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues Exceptional teamwork and leadership skills to help other technical support workers Ability to learn new technologies and implement them Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision SKILLS/ABILITIES/SPECIFICATIONS Associates degree in computer science, Information Technology and/or another related field and/or 1+ years of experience as a Computer Programmer, IT Support Technician, Software Developer or Network Systems Administrator. Certification(s) or degree in Information Technology related field are beneficial
This is a Contract position based out of North Prairie, WI.
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
