Are you ready to play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service? At Linde Material Handling, we’re looking for a Service Controller to join our team in West Bromwich. This is a pivotal position where you’ll manage daily customer contact for breakdown coordination and oversee a team of field-based service engineers—ensuring we provide first-class on-site service and continuously improve our customer experience.

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Service Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will:
• Present a professional company customer facing image, maintaining excellent customer contact and call-handling standards and building effective customer and colleague relationships
• Manage and control the despatch of engineers to Breakdown/TOA jobs as required keeping the customer informed at all stages, providing proactive clear and effective communication to customers regarding TOA’s, breakdowns and planned services
• Support your engineering team to deliver outstanding service to internal and external customers.
• Proactively control service planning, maintaining accurate planning master data
• Arrange and plan work arising from Thorough Examinations and Service
• Deal with any invoice queries in a timely manner, in conjunction with the Regional Service Managers
• Arrange third party jobs as required through approved suppliers
• Ensure time sheet data is accurate and up to date
• Closely monitor all WIP within the service environment, correcting any tasks and errors that prevent the timely completion of jobs

Tasks and Qualifications:

We’re interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Customer Service Expertise: Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong call-handling skills
  • Communication Skills: Confident, professional, and pleasant telephone manner. Able to communicate at all levels, internally and externally, via telephone, email or face to face
  • Organisational Ability: Exceptional prioritisation and decision-making skills
  • Team Player: Flexible, committed, and self-driven
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in IT systems, especially Excel (SAP knowledge is an advantage)
  • Strong Time Management and Attention to Detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Engineer planning experience (desired but not essential)
