About the Role (your why)

Datacom is looking for a Service Configuration Management Analyst to join our organisation, working in Australia and delivering Service Configuration Management services to a range of customers.

This role is suited to someone with 1–2 years’ experience in an ITSM or Service Operations environment who is passionate about ITIL-based Service Management and keen to develop into a Service Configuration Management Subject Matter Expert.

You will work as part of a broader ANZ Service Operations team, supporting the delivery of Service Configuration Management as an end-to-end practice, ensuring configuration data drives effective outcomes across Change, Incident, Problem, Asset and Service Management.

You will need to be proactive, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and interested in developing your capability within a high-performing team delivering quality services to our customers.

The role focuses on analysing ServiceNow CMDB and service data, supporting data quality, governance, service relationships, and continuous improvement across customer environments. You will work closely with Service Operations practices, technical teams, and Service Delivery Managers to ensure configuration data is accurate, trusted, and enables operational outcomes.

***This role requires Australian Citizenship, as you will be working with customer data in secure environments***

What you’ll do

  • Assist in the delivery of Service Configuration Management services for our customers
  • Analyse CMDB and service data to identify data quality issues and improvement opportunities
  • Support maintaining an accurate, trusted and business-relevant CMDB within ServiceNow
  • Support CI lifecycle activities, governance processes, and reconciliation tasks
  • Assist in maintaining service relationships, service mappings, and dependency information, with guidance from senior team members
  • Work with Change, Incident, Problem and Asset Management practices
  • Support reporting and insights to customers and stakeholders Contribute to service improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring

  • 1–2 years’ experience in ITSM, Data Analytics or Service Operations
  • Exposure to ITIL practices (ITIL Foundation desirable)
  • Experience using ServiceNow (CMDB exposure preferred)
  • Basic understanding of Configuration Items (CIs), CI classes, and CMDB concepts
  • Exposure to CMDB data quality and reconciliation activities
  • Strong analytical and data-focused mindset
  • Attention to detail with a focus on data quality
  • Proactive approach with a strong will to learn and develop
