Service Centre Manager

Key Responsibilities


  • Operational & Commercial Leadership

    • Drive the Service Centre’s strategic and operational plans to ensure efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement

    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase revenue, and optimise margins

  • Service Delivery & Quality Assurance

    • Oversee end-to-end service delivery, including technical support, repairs, and quality control

    • Ensure compliance with OEM and ISO standards

  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships

    • Resolve escalations and implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and retention

  • Administration & Financial Management

    • Manage budgeting, reporting, stock control, and operational processes

    • Ensure accurate, efficient administrative and reporting systems

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing technical team

    • Drive performance management, training, and a strong customer-focused culture


Requirements


Candidate Requirements


  • Matric plus a
    Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology

    , or relevant equivalent qualification

  • Minimum
    3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role within an electronic service/repair workshop environment

  • Proven experience in the
    repair, maintenance, and calibration of precision electronic instruments

    (specifically within surveying equipment, GPS/GNSS, geospatial technologies, or similar high-tech field equipment – essential)

  • Industry exposure to
    geospatial, surveying, construction technology, mining technology, or positioning/GNSS solutions

  • Strong understanding of
    technical service environments

    , including diagnostics, fault-finding, and calibration of electronic or digital instrumentation

  • Experience supporting customers in
    highly technical, application-driven environments

    (rather than general mechanical, automotive, or manufacturing settings)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a hands-on approach to fault diagnosis

  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and developing technical teams


Advantageous


  • Experience with
    Trimble or similar positioning/geospatial technologies

    (e.g. Leica, Topcon, Hexagon)

  • Exposure to
    Sage 300 (Service Manager)

    or similar service/workshop management systems

  • Experience in Supervising / Leading a Service Team
