Job Description

The primary responsibility of the server assistant is to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant patrons. The server assistant is responsible for ensuring the guests are satisfied with their dining experience by keeping the restaurant clean and stocked, and to engage the guests in a professional and genuine manner. The server assistant is responsible for maintaining a genuine, cheerful demeanor.

  • Arrive at work on time, fully dressed, clean, and prepared with all the proper work cards, credentials and uniform.
  • Prepare the restaurant for daily service and alerting management of any maintenance issues or missing product.
  • Perform all opening, closing and side duties required of a server assistant.
  • Greet guests using the 10’/5’ rule and engaging guests in cheerful, genuine conversation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant before, during, and after the shift.
  • Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between parties as necessary.
  • Stock all side stations with condiments and supplies.
  • Continuous disposal of trash and waste in the restaurant to the proper receptacle.
  • Engage with guests professionally and genuinely by maintaining a cheerful conversation and delivering the service that is required of them.
  • Move tables throughout dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate need of the guests.
  • Depart the restaurant on time and having completed all the designated functions for the day.
  • Assist the food server in any way needed to provide excellent guest service.
  • Water refills as necessary.
  • Assistance in non-alcoholic beverage service.
  • Understand and execute artisanal coffee beverage program.
  • Provide top-box guest service and assisting the guest in any request that is asked of them in regards to food and non-alcoholic beverage service.
  • Requires 1 year of prior bus person experience.
  • Must possess a valid SNHD health card.
  • Common knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires professional interactions with customers, co-workers and management.
  • Work requires professional teamwork with other co-workers.
  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant public.
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting a maximum of 50lbs. repeatedly.
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs.
  • Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
