Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Deliver warm, genuine, attentive, and engaging hospitality to every guest.
  • Welcome guests and confidently guide them through the dining experience.
  • Anticipate guest needs and personalize service whenever possible.
  • Create meaningful guest connections while maintaining polished and professional service.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality to a diverse mix of local, national, and international guests.
  • Address guest questions and concerns promptly and involve leadership when appropriate.

Service Execution

  • Execute all steps of service according to JAG standards, including greeting, order taking, coursing, table maintenance, and check presentation.
  • Manage multiple tables while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Accurately enter orders, modifications, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Monitor the timing and pacing of each table throughout the dining experience.
  • Communicate effectively with culinary, beverage, runner, and support teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately and according to established standards.

Food & Beverage Knowledge

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Confidently explain dishes and answer guest questions regarding the menu.
  • Maintain working knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings.
  • Understand common allergens and follow established procedures when communicating dietary restrictions.
  • Participate in pre-shift tastings, menu education, and ongoing training.

Sales & Recommendations

  • Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences and dining occasions.
  • Identify opportunities for suggestive selling and upselling while maintaining a genuine, hospitality-first approach.
  • Recommend complementary beverages, additional courses, desserts, and other menu offerings.
  • Support restaurant sales goals through strong product knowledge and guest engagement.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with bartenders, hosts, runners, bussers, culinary teams, and leadership.
  • Support fellow team members during peak periods to maintain efficient service flow.
  • Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, guest concerns, and special requests clearly and immediately.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
  • Maintain clean and organized tables, stations, and service areas.
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
  • Follow JAG policies, procedures, and all applicable Florida and local health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Previous serving experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred; we will train the right candidate.
  • Upscale casual, luxury hospitality, or fine dining experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and hospitality skills.
  • Ability to engage comfortably with a diverse guest population.
  • Ability to learn and confidently communicate detailed food and beverage information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain calm, positive, and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for food, beverage, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Food Handler and responsible alcohol service certifications, or ability to obtain them as required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 8+ hours.
  • Frequently bend, reach, carry, and maneuver throughout the dining room.
  • Lift and carry trays, plates, and service items up to 25–30 lbs.
  • Work in a fast-paced restaurant environment with variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
  • Slip-resistant footwear required.
