Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests with enthusiasm, ensuring they feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment they arrive
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, offering recommendations on daily specials, oysters, and beverage pairings
- Ensure all orders are delivered with attention to detail, maintaining the highest quality standards for food and presentation
- Handle special requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions with care, ensuring seamless communication with the kitchen
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about oysters, seafood, wines, and cocktails to enhance the guest experience
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room by resetting tables promptly and ensuring a professional atmosphere at all times
- Work closely with the kitchen, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Address any guest concerns or inquiries with professionalism, ensuring a positive and enjoyable dining experience
- Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant during service

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For:

Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of recent experience as a server in a fine dining or upscale-casual restaurant is REQUIRED
- Previous experience in a seafood-focused restaurant or raw bar setting is a plus
- Strong knowledge of wines, craft cocktails, and the ability to recommend pairings to elevate the dining experience
- Experience in handling special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies with professionalism and grace
- Familiarity with POS systems and order processing is preferred
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining exceptional service standards
Skills & Qualities:
- Strong communication skills with a polished phone manner and the ability to articulate menu items clearly
- Friendly, engaging, and personable demeanor with a passion for exceptional guest service
- Ability to handle pressure and maintain a calm, professional attitude during busy service periods
- Attention to detail in ensuring all orders are accurate, delivered timely, and up to Max Oyster’s high standards
- A passion for seafood, with the ability to engage guests in knowledgeable conversations about the menu and special offerings
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays throughout shifts, while maintaining efficiency and energy
- Team-oriented with a commitment to contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment
