Coordinate the impacts construction projects have on SECR/TOPS departments, conduct departmental training for SECR Facilities and other departments from construction projects and maintain SECR print/manual archives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate any activities from construction projects that may impact operations or guest service amenities with impacted departments. These are dependent upon the specific project but may include impacts on parking, hotel room occupancy, F&B operations, utility shutdowns and other related impacts on SECR departments.
  • Conduct at minimum, weekly walkthroughs of all projects noting observations and development of a digital record of the respective project through the various phases of construction.
  • Coordinate with the IT department a digital project archive for each respective project. Content should include meeting minutes, O/M manuals, as-built documents, punchlists and other critical communication.
  • Coordinate any owner related systems or equipment as they relate to project completion with Construction Manager and Facilities Director that are not under the responsibility scope of the general contractor.
  • Attend all project construction meetings.
  • Coordinate with Facilities management inclusion of all new equipment on the AIMS system, related preventative maintenance schedule and/or implementation of maintenance programs on elements such as parking lots, roofs and building exteriors.
  • Dependent upon the project coordinate training on new equipment, cleaning of substrates with Housekeeping and equipment operation with impacted departments.
  • Upon project completion distribute O/M manuals and related project documents to Facilities shared drive, IT, impacted departments and filing with the SECR Facilities archive room.
  • Coordinate annual training for each month for SECR Facilities including test results and distribution of training materials. This shall include the following mandatory annual training: Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Right to Know, Fire Safety, Lift Safety, Biohazard Response and Respiratory Protection.
  • Coordinate safety training with the respective Facilities manager from the above list for all new SECR Facilities team members within their respective probationary term.
  • Maintain the SECR Facilities archive room including organization of O/M manuals, As-Built drawings and critical project documents.
  • Maintain on the Facilities shared drive a project warranty document that tracks warranty items and identifies the warranty expiration date for each project components and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Accounting asset tagging for respective equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority. Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with Facilities staff to coordinate monthly safety training, safety training for all new team members and training on equipment/systems related to completed construction projects.
  • Contact with Construction Manager for awareness of project status and components from each respective project to fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Contact with the IT department to develop a digital project file for each respective project.
  • Contact with other SECR/TOPS departments at project completion to coordinate equipment operation training, cleaning products and techniques with Housekeeping and utility system operation as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in either a Facilities or skilled trade work environment.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Driver’s License and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier.
  • Must have a current valid State of Michigan Master Electrician, Master Plumber or Builders License.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with other team members and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad software.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with repair equipment.
  • Strenuous physical exertion in climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects.
  • Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and reach with arms and hands.
  • Occasionally sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Indoors and outside.
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials
  • Work may be performed in wet, damp and cramped or close work area.
  • Exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials and moving parts may occur.
  • Situations where safety equipment is needed may occur.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Evening, overnight, holiday and/or weekend work may be required.
  • Travel may be required.
