Job Description
The Mid‑Level SEO Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing on-page and off-page SEO strategies aimed at improving organic visibility, traffic, and conversions. The ideal candidate is comfortable with technical audits, keyword strategy, content optimisation, and performance reporting, with proven experience delivering measurable results.
Key responsibilities:
SEO Strategy & Execution
- Conduct keyword research using industry-standard tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner).
- Develop and implement effective on-page SEO strategies, including metadata optimisation, internal linking, and content structuring.
- Execute off-page SEO campaigns: link-building, digital PR collaboration, and outreach.
Technical SEO
- Perform technical audits (crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, page speed).
- Work with developers to resolve technical issues affecting SEO performance.
- Monitor Google Search Console for errors, trends, and improvements.
Content Optimisation
- Create SEO briefs and collaborate with content writers to optimise landing pages, blog content, and category pages.
- Ensure content aligns with target keywords, user intent, and SEO best practices.
- Analyse content gaps and propose new opportunities.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report key metrics (rankings, traffic, impressions, CTR, conversions).
- Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Data Studio/Looker, Search Console) to provide insights and recommendations.
- Measure and report on campaign performance and ROI.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with developers, designers, and social/content teams to drive holistic digital performance.
- Participate in digital marketing strategy discussions, providing SEO insights.
- Stay updated on algorithm changes and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 2–4+ years of hands‑on SEO experience.
- Strong knowledge of on‑page, off‑page, and technical SEO.
- Proficiency in SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, etc.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, etc.).
- Familiarity with schema markup and structured data.
- Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with a passion for data‑driven decision making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- SEO certifications (Google Analytics, HubSpot SEO, SEMrush Academy) are a plus.
- Proven track record of improving rankings and driving organic growth.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
- Familiarity with JavaScript SEO.
- Understanding of UX best practices.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (Looker Studio, Power BI).
- Knowledge of AI‑driven SEO tools and automation workflows.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
