Job Description

The SEO Analyst is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and managing SEO workflow strategies for a network of over 250 automotive websites. SEO activities include, SEO content opportunity research and implementation, business citation optimization, link building, and keyword strategy.

We are looking for a driven analytical professional who is a skilled communicator and able to collaborate with various teams supporting AutoNation’s SEO and digital marketing efforts. This role includes interaction with all levels of the organization and multiple business units (IT, marketing, and operations stakeholders) and third-party vendors. External teams include website vendors, lead providers, and technology companies that support various products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development and implementation of SEO content strategies supporting 300+ websites, to increase organic search visibility, AutoNation brand awareness, and website lead conversion.
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with marketing efforts for the structure of websites and content
  • Conduct keyword research to guide content producers, including frequent competitor analysis and use of data mining tools
  • Monitor users, impressions, clicks, errors, and redirects across all web properties
  • Review technical SEO issues and manage recommend fixes
  • Optimize on-page website content and deploy custom landing pages for maximum visibility in the major search engines
  • Manage off-page optimization projects (link-building)
  • Develop reporting on traffic, rankings and other SEO KPIs
  • Manage SEO vendor relationships including directing SEO specialists on specific tasks
  • Work with development teams to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented in new releases
  • Maintain a priority ranked project backlog and coordinate needs with internal and external business units to accomplish desired outcome
  • Learn and maintain compliance requirements for all site content and support monthly audit of sites

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience as SEO Analyst or similar role
  • Intermediate knowledge of standard and current SEO practices, tactics, tools, and measurable metrics
  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant tools (e.g. SEMRush, Majestic, Screaming Frog, MOZ) and web analytic tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profiles)
  • Ability to execute content performance tests, collect and analyze data, identify trends and insights for future deployment
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and general web development concepts
  • Experience working within CMS and building/administering content across multiple websites
  • Intermediate knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
  • Quick leaner with demonstrated organization and follow-up skills and able to thrive in a mission critical, past-paced environment
  • Able to converse with contacts in a clear and professional manner, understand and document business impact and criticality, and provide high level attention and professionalism to solve the issue and to communicate status effectively
  • Ability to organize findings in a clear and concise fashion to provide to support teams that will be required to work on solutions or enhancements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Basic knowledge of website URL structures and UTM tracking parameters

Education:

  • BS/BA degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable.

Next Possible Position:

  • SEO Analyst III or SEO Manager, Marketing

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires travel less than 10%
