Senior/Principal Research Scientist/Team Lead (m/f/d)

In this role, you will work in formulation R&D area for generic and innovative injectable projects, developed within the Injectables team in R&D Zagreb and/or other Hikma R&D locations.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in developing the pharmaceutical, IP and registration strategy for new products in (pre)nomination stage and continuously throughout the product development
• Build scientific base for innovative and generic finished dosage form projects, by designing product formulations, container closure system and manufacturing process
• Participate in transfer of technology to production scale across global manufacturing organization
• Provide critical inputs to regulatory process by preparing and reviewing internal and external documentation needed for marketing authorization applications globally (US FDA, EMA, other regions)

• Mentoring and coaching less experienced members of the team enabling the optimal growth pattern
• Strengthening scientific driven cross-functional collaboration in securing quality, safety and efficacy of new pharmaceutical products
• In the Team Lead role, the employee is also accountable for people leadership and for ensuring successful coordination and delivery of projects

What we expect:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry/Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacy
• Preferable experience with injectable products; in particular complex injectables (e.g. peptides and similar, long-acting release, drug device combinations)
• For the Team Lead role, extensive experience in the development of complex injectables (including e.g. oligomers and long‑acting release formulations) is required
• Knowledge of GMP requirements for product development, manufacturing and analysis
• Team player, proactive and approachable; able to formulate and implement design strategies within cross functional teams
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a global competitive-paced pharmaceutical industry environment
• Fluency in English language (spoken and written)
