UNDERWRITER/SENIOR UNDERWRITER (Lawyers Professional Liability and other E&O lines) - Preferred locations New York, NY or Jersey City, NJ. Chicago, IL. Hybrid Role with 2 to 3 days in the Office.
The Senior/Executive Underwriter (LPL) is responsible for building and maintaining a book of Lawyers Professional Liability business, including both primary and excess. This role follows underwriting guidelines, rating manuals, and rules promulgated by the actuaries and LPL product management teams, reviews insurance applications, and quotes and binds insurance within delegated authority. The position involves working with brokers in the assigned territory to solicit business and market the company’s products, through phone calls and in-person interaction/travel.
This role offers a clear path for advancement to a leadership position, with opportunities to mentor junior underwriters, participate in strategic initiatives, and contribute to product development and team management.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $118,900 to a maximum of $174,400. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
