Here’s what you can expect and count on in your new role as an Associate/Senior Ecologist with EMM:

• Your work will see you leading significant ecology projects across diverse industries, scoping solutions and proposals through to leading the delivery and resources resulting in high quality reports and outcomes.
• You’ll lead a variety of state significant development (SSD) projects across a variety of industries with a particular focus on renewables, mining, energy and infrastructure.
• You’ll provide innovation and expertise in the delivery of biodiversity assessment method (BAM) and NSW biodiversity offsets scheme (BOS).
• You’ll play a key role in the mentoring and development journey of our diverse team of Ecologists.
• You’ll work with leaders and peers who are truly present and invested in your growth.
• The autonomy and flexibility to work the way that works best for you and the support you need to balance your interests and priorities beyond work.
• This is hybrid position that would combine home working with team collaboration days at our Newcastle or Sydney offices.
• The role will require field work across New South Wales.

Here’s what you’ll bring: ·

• 7 years plus relevant post graduate experience, preferably gained within an ecological consultancy environment.
• Extensive experience with planning and leading ecological field surveys.
• Vegetation mapping and plant/botany identification skills.
• Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accredited.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and preparing Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports and/or Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Reports.
• Ability to research, prepare documentation and draw conclusions to support recommendations for review.
• A degree in ecology or a related discipline.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Great relationship skills including the ability to liaise with the team, clients and all relevant stakeholders.
• Have a current/valid unrestricted NSW driver's license.
