Senior Workers' Compensation Adjuster – Montana

Location: Remote (Montana Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Adjuster to manage a caseload of Montana workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience handling indemnity claims, litigation management, reserve setting, and settlement negotiations while ensuring compliance with Montana workers' compensation statutes and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of Montana workers' compensation claims, including lost-time and complex indemnity files.
• Conduct investigations, determine compensability, and develop appropriate claim strategies.
• Establish and maintain timely and accurate reserves.
• Coordinate medical treatment, return-to-work efforts, and disability management.
• Manage litigated claims in partnership with defense counsel and other vendors.
• Evaluate exposure and negotiate settlements within authority.
• Maintain compliance with Montana workers' compensation laws, regulations, and client-specific requirements.
• Communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and diary management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Workers' Compensation claims handling experience.
• Experience handling lost-time and indemnity workers' compensation claims.
• Strong litigation management and settlement negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of Montana workers' compensation statutes and claims practices preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Montana Workers' Compensation claims experience.
• Multi-state workers' compensation experience.
• TPA or carrier background.
• Experience handling complex and litigated files.
