The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for A Senior Windows System Administrator on the ELITE contract supporting USEUCOM in Stuttgart, Germany. This position requires TESA approval.

As a Senior Windows Systems Administrator on the Platforms & Management Technologies team, you will be responsible for the administration, engineering, and sustainment of enterprise Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server infrastructure across a STIG-compliant, multi-site DoD environment.

Your core work includes AD account and security group management, GPO design and optimization, STIG remediation, and server builds and maintenance. You will also design and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes, enforce version-controlled change governance, and improve operational consistency across the team. A growing component of this role involves enterprise visibility through Splunk. You will build and maintain operational dashboards that give the team and leadership actionable insight into platform health, compliance posture, and service trends. As a senior team member, you are expected to document your work thoroughly, producing Markdown-based guides, EIPs, EDPs, or operational runbooks submitted through GitLab for peer review.

Responsibilities:

  • Active Directory Management: Administer, manage, and support Active Directory services including user accounts, security groups, group policies, OU structure, and security configurations across a multi-site enterprise environment.
  • Windows Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and STIG compliance. Conduct server builds, decommissions, and migrations as required.
  • Group Policy Design and Optimization: Review, clean up, and streamline existing Group Policy Objects to improve system performance and manageability.
  • Design and test new GPOs in lab environments prior to production deployment. Implement AGPM-based governance with Git-backed version control and approval workflows.
  • GitLab CI/CD Automation: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to streamline and automate deployment processes, script version control, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Splunk Dashboard Development: Build and maintain Splunk dashboards and visualizations that provide operational insight into platform health, compliance status, and service trends. Develop queries and reports that support proactive monitoring and leadership decision-making.
  • Expand the team's Splunk capability over time by identifying new data sources and use cases. System Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of Windows platforms through STIG remediation, patch management, ACAS vulnerability remediation, and alignment with DISA security baselines and CCRI readiness criteria.
  • Documentation and Change Governance: Develop and maintain Markdown-based guides, EIPs, EDPs, and operational runbooks for server deployment, STIG remediation, GPO changes, and automation workflows. All major changes and complex break-fix actions must be submitted through GitLab merge requests for peer review, capturing what was done, why, and how to replicate.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting to ensure system stability. Document root cause analysis as part of the standard resolution workflow.
  • Process Improvement: Establish and enforce policies and processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and standardize how the team delivers work.
  • Mentorship: Provide structured guidance and over-the-shoulder training to junior and journeyman administrators. Produce reusable runbooks and decision trees that enable less experienced team members to handle routine operations independently. Contribute to Learn-Friday sessions and team brown bags.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cybersecurity, networking, architecture, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems and services.
