Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Wet Utilities Engineer to join our site-based construction supervision team on a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.
What You’ll Be Doing
Report to the Construction Director and act as the discipline lead for wet utilities on site.
Supervise and monitor the construction of all wet utility works (potable water, firefighting networks, irrigation networks, stormwater drainage, sewer networks, and associated structures) to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, authority standards, and project requirements.
Review and comment on shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, material submittals, method statements, and ITPs related to wet utilities, and coordinate approvals with relevant stakeholders.
Conduct daily site inspections and regular site walks to monitor progress, workmanship, and quality of wet utility works, ensuring adherence to the project schedule.
Coordinate and follow up on inspection requests (IRs), NCRs, and site observations with the contractor to ensure timely closure and corrective actions.
Liaise closely with Project Managers, resident engineers, other discipline engineers (roads, landscape, structures, dry utilities), and the contractor’s team to resolve site issues and interface conflicts.
Review and verify pressure test reports, leakage tests, flushing and disinfection records, and other commissioning documentation for wet utilities.
Review and verify as-built drawings and O&M manuals for all wet utility systems.
Participate in progress, technical, and coordination meetings, providing input on wet utility-related issues, risks, and mitigation measures.
Monitor the contractor’s work program, resources, sequencing, and method of construction for wet utilities and highlight any potential delays or constraints.
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are fully implemented and followed for all wet utility works, in line with Parsons and project policies.
Prepare and submit discipline-specific reports, including daily/weekly progress reports, quality reports, technical memos, and site correspondence as required.
Support testing, commissioning, and handover of wet utility systems to the client and relevant authorities/utility providers.
Maintain professional communication and coordination with clients, client representatives, and local authorities/utility providers during construction and handover stages.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
in wet utilities construction supervision (potable water, firefighting, irrigation, stormwater, and sewer networks), preferably on large-scale infrastructure or public realm projects.
Strong knowledge of wet utilities design principles, construction standards, and authority/utility provider requirements, as well as relevant international codes.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
Proven experience in site-based supervision, inspection procedures, and management of contractors for wet utility works.
Demonstrated leadership, coordination, and communication skills within multi-disciplinary project teams.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting utility layouts, profiles, hydraulic drawings, and coordination plans.
Familiarity with HSE and quality management systems in a construction environment.
Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred.
