Principal Activities
· Create, check and correct weld process instructions & records.
· Serve as a single point contact for all technical questions regarding welding from welders and production personnel.
· Write new & update existing WPS, PQR & WPQ documents.
· Oversee and drive new welding procedure qualifications from initial design through performance, testing, documentation & submittal.
· Assist Quality with Maintenance of Welder Performance Qualifications.
· Assist Quality with internal & external welding audits.
· Generate weld time & material estimates for complex welding jobs.
· Implement process improvements for existing work.
· Develop novel welding processes for improving quality / efficiency.
· Design & build tooling / work aids as necessary for process improvement.
Requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
· Good knowledge and understanding of Sciences and basics of welding.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
· Previous welding experience in the Military or Nuclear industries.
· Familiarity with Military Welding Codes (MIL-STD/Tech-Pub 248/278/1688).
· Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, & GMAW weld processes.
· Experience with welding of Ni and Cu-base alloys is a plus.
· Proficient with MS Office applications.
Education & Experience
· 4-year degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering with a Focus on Welding, or Metallurgy.
· 5+ years of Industry experience.

· Must be a US Citizen to meet US Defense requirements.
