The Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Senior Para-Professional will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of shipping and receiving operations within the Hitachi warehouse. This role involves ensuring efficient material flow, accurate inventory management, and adherence to established safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Oversee and perform daily shipping and receiving activities, including unloading, inspecting, counting, storing, and loading materials.
* Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists.
* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and shipping labels.
* Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., production, procurement, sales) to ensure timely material availability and delivery.
* Maintain accurate inventory records through proper scanning, data entry, and cycle counting procedures.
* Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with incoming or outgoing materials.
* Assist in organizing and optimizing warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval.
* Train and mentor junior warehouse staff on shipping and receiving procedures and safety protocols.
* Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, procedures, and quality standards.
* Participate in periodic inventory audits and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse shipping and receiving role, with demonstrated senior-level responsibilities.
* Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment; valid certification preferred.
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and logistics processes.
* Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.
